Verification Process Follow

Once an applicant has completed and submitted their application they will receive an email from the ECB Disclosures Team confirming this. Within this email will also be information on how to complete the ID Verification process alongside some recommend ID Verifiers either from the applicant's organisation and/or based on location.

The email will also contain a link back to the system to us the 'Find a Verifier' tool.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact ID Verifiers to arrange a face to face meeting to get their documents verified. If an applicant knows an ID Verifier, in which case they can go to them directly to complete the process and can disregard the suggestions in the email received advising of the Find A Verifier feature.

The email will also contain an Application Reference Number. The applicant will need to provide this during the meeting if their Verifier is from another Club/Organisation to their own, as the Verifier will need to use this to search for the applicant separately in the Disclosures Portal system.

The applicant should ensure they take with them the original copies of their three selected documents when making their application. The Verifier will use these to enter the data the system asks them for when completing the verification.

Once the documents have been verified, Volunteer applications will be dispatched to the Disclosure and Barring Service to completed the vetting checks. For Paid applications, the applicant will receive one final email containing a link to pay the application fee. Once completed, the application will then be dispatched to DBS.

Please note, once an application has been submitted, the system will allow 90 days for the ID verification to take place, unless one of their selected documents expires within that time, in which case the expiry date of that document will be the deadline day for verification.
