What if I don't have an email address or computer? Follow
The ECB only accept online DBS applications - we no longer support paper applications.
In order to apply for a DBS the applicant must have use of an email address. It does not have to be your own email address but if it isn't, make sure you will have access to it as the application process relies on email correspondence. For this reason we would strongly encourage applicants to set up an email address if they do not currently have one. Ask for help with this from a family member or a friend if necessary.
If you are unable to get help from someone you know, please contact the ECB here and we will put you in touch with your local County board to arrange assistance.
It is a quick and relatively simple task to obtain a free email address and the online DBS application process is much more efficient than the previous paper-based system.
The system works on most devices, including phone, tablet and computer, so if you do not have a computer, you can use your phone. If you do not have a suitable device you will need to arrange to sit down with somebody you know who does have one and use theirs.
