DBS Application/Certificate - Temporarily Suspended Follow

When you DBS check has resulted and the certificate is produced by the Disclosure and Barring Service, you may be requested by the ECB to submit your certificate to the Safeguarding Team to complete additional vetting checks prior to being cleared to carry out Regulated Activity in cricket.

If this is requested of you, you haven't been cleared for Regulated Activity so must not carry out or be considered for any regulated role/s until clearance has been approved.

This request will be made in the initial result confirmation email from the ECB DBS Disclosures Team that a result has been produced, with reminder emails will also sent to you on a weekly basis for 28 days following the result date if we do not receive your certificate after the first request.

Please note, you are not required to show your DBS certificate to anybody else in cricket other than the ECB Safeguarding Team and any request to do so should be reported to ECB DBS Team.

If the 28 day deadline is not met, a further email will be sent (and a copy to your County Safeguarding Officer) notifying you that you are temporarily suspended from any role in Regulated Activity in cricket.

At the point of temporary suspension you still have a further 2 months (90 days total) to submit your DBS certificate to complete vetting. Please note that scanned/photocopies of certificates will not accepted and you will need to provide the original copy to:

Safeguarding Team, England & Wales Cricket Board, County Cricket Ground, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B5 7QU

Following vetting review you will be advised if you have been cleared for the role you have completed your application for.

If the certificate is not submitted within the 90 day deadline, the certificate will be marked as invalid and you will not be cleared for Regulated Activity in cricket and a new application would need to be completed if you are still wishing to be cleared for Regulated Activity in cricket.

For advice and guidance on this, please contact ECB DBS Team directly here.
