What does 'Application Exception Accepted' mean? Follow
If looking at the 'Audit Trail' tab on the Disclosures Portal and see the note of 'Application Exception Accepted' this means that when the applicant made their application, a duplicate record was created in the ECB's system rather than the application overwriting and updating the existing record we hold for them.
This sometimes happens as the existing data we hold for people can become out of date – the system recognises this and creates a duplicate record with the new info in order to trigger us to check that the new application's data is correct. Sometimes this can involve contacting the applicant to ensure we have the correct information.
The majority of the time a duplicate is created we are able to merge the two records keeping the new info, either with or without clarification from the applicant.
'Application Exception Accepted' refers to this process of the check being completed.
If any further information is required, please contact ECB DBS Team.
