ECB Club Accreditation – FAQs Follow
What is ECB Club Accreditation?
- ECB Club Accreditation has replaced the former Clubmark scheme as the key framework for helping clubs in England and Wales raise standards in the recreational game. It will continue to be used by many leagues as an entry requirement and supports clubs in meeting Home Office requirements for the managed migration process. The programme is overseen by the ECB and delivered locally by County Boards (RCBs), who will guide clubs through updated operational timelines.
- You will be supported by a Club Support Officer from your local board, who will assist you through the process and conduct any necessary site visits.
- Further details on accreditation criteria and the process can be found in the ECB Club Accreditation User Guide, located in the Resources section of the portal.
Why pursue ECB Club Accreditation?
ECB Club Accreditation shows that your club is sustainable, well run and provides the right environment for its members. It demonstrates that your club is recognised as a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for participants of all ages, and gives assurance to parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people.
- Assurance that strong governance and safeguarding standards are in place
- Competitive edge for recruiting juniors, volunteers, and new members
- Pride and recognition for the hard work of everyone at the club
- Pathway to opportunities, including Premier League entry and funding access
